Lisbon Airport has the largest ultra-fast charging hub in Portugal

Galp and ANA have set up a partnership to provide universal charging solutions at Lisbon Airport’s public car parks which form part of the Mobi.E network. The new electric vehicle charging area has 10 ultra-fast charging points so that 10 vehicles can be charged simultaneously.

Under the agreement between Galp and ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal (ANA), the largest ultra-fast charging hub in Portugal will be created, with ten 180 kW DC ultra-fast charging points which will allow for 10 vehicles to be charged at the same time.

This project also includes the provision and management of a public charging network, which can be universally accessed and is incorporated into the Mobi.E network, which has 41 normal EV charging sockets (AC) and 1 EV fast charging socket (DC), installed across 13 car parks at Lisbon Airport – all of which are already operational. There are also 48 private charging points for the ANA Group in car parks, via a technological solution for managing and monitoring the charging infrastructure – the GALP Platform for private charging solutions.

The ultra-fast charging hub will be located in the car park called “Parque da Nora”, in Lisbon Airport’s Rua C, and will enable a vehicle battery – depending on the type of vehicle – to be charged from 20% to 80% in 15 minutes.

The protocol signed between Galp and ANA will be in place for 10 years and symbolises both companies’ clear commitment to the goal of decarbonisation in the light vehicle transport sector.
